UNLIMITED

Is My Dad The Most Interesting Man?

The good news about UNLIMITED is its message that, with God, there’s unlimited power! Someone who truly tells that truth is my Dad, Harold Finch, who is not just a character in a movie! Dad went from being a NASA scientist, teaching and consulting Fortune 500 companies how to be so successful, all the while telling them about the key to eternal life – Jesus Christ.

My Dad, Dr. Harold Finch, may be the world’s most interesting man. While his childhood was full of poverty and rough patches, the one-time NASA engineer, college president, and entrepreneur has experienced more situations than most of us have even considered. But, as the executive producer of the fictional film Unlimited that is based on his life, dad looks back and sees the way that God moved him through a diverse life to prepare him for each moment that came next.

Thanks to the development of the Barbecue Roll, the thermodynamic computer system that keeps astronauts safe from extreme temperatures in space, as well as the foundation of Johnson County Community College and two separate 500-level businesses, thousands of people have gathered to hear his principles through the 750 seminars he has given worldwide. “There’s something in my portfolio that almost everyone can connect with,” Finch believes. “When YWAM (Youth With A Mission) approached me, they wanted to take the principles I had been sharing, and make sure they could still be communicated after I was no longer able to travel. They believed a movie would be the best way to do that.”

YWAM was particularly interested in my Dad's teachings because they realized that university students were coming out to hear Finch, even while that same generation was leaving the church. “We didn’t want to preach to the choir,” he says. “Fred Thompson [who plays Finch in the film] did his homework, through reading about me and conversations we had. But we wanted to make sure that the film was attractive to people outside of the church.”

In so many ways, my Dad's life proves that by following God, the path may appear to be crooked and unconnected, but by the grace of God, that path’s potential will be revealed - in the lives of each person who will believe.

Unlimited, an exciting action/adventure film, is available now on Amazon Prime or you can watch it for free here with commercials.

Our daughter, Aliya, pictured here, was afforded no favors in landing her role. Because she wanted to be in Unlimited, Aliya, took the initiative and auditioned for the part of the lead orphan in the film. She competed with several other girls, but established herself as the top choice with the independent casting director. Aliya also impressed the film’s director, Nathan Frankowski, who said, “Her stage presence, confidence, and facial expressions really set her apart.” Fred Thompson added, “To see Aliya, who has the largest nonspeaking part in the film, it was hard not to tear up. ” Mark Finch, Aliya’s dad, partly credits her theatrical talent to her training in dance. He suggested that Aliya’s ability to sit through the long hours of taping while maintaining an engaged and attentive posture came from her personal work ethic and determination.
